Just watched Boris and the children at the play group on BBC News

Boris. "Hello puppets."
Children. "Hello party papa"

Boris. "Do we all know how many new policemen we are going to have?"
Children. "Twenty thousand. Giggle, giggle"

Boris. "Do we all know how many new hospitals we are going to build?"
Children. "Forty. Giggle, giggle."

Boris. "How many big shiny new buses are we going to have in the country?"
Children. "Loads and loads and loads." Giggle, giggle"

At that point I lost the will to live and turned the tv off!

Oh dear.
Yes I saw that.
It is a truly terrible cabinet talent wise.
I thought at one point Rishi Sunak was going to nibble Mr Johnson’s left ear.
The longest-serving member of the cabinet is ... Liz Truss. It tells you all you need to know.
Nowt worse than sore losers in both a referendum and a GE is there?
They never shut up, bobbi. I knew banning the cane in schools was a mistake.
It's quite clear that Boris only wants younger and less experienced MPs in his Cabinet so he can ride roughshod over them "Just do as I say or go and stand in the naughty corner". Power is a very dangerous thing.
yet another thread which is in News and shouldn't be.

On the plus side, at least the OP didn't lose the will to post :-D
Diddly, did you get that rubbish from your beloved Guardian, or did you just make it up?
Boris says "leveling up"'

Good Luck with that

Another stupid childish thread that doesn't belong in news. here s 're the moderators?
He's assembled a bunch of yes 'men' in order to get a brexit deal done. Under the circumstances, I think it's quite a good idea. The last thing we want is more division as we go thru the final negotiations.
Where are
Diddly seems largely correct I’m afraid.

Johnson has sacked an enormous number of ministers since last summer and many of them are bound to be peed off. He may find that the main opposition soon will come from his own benches. It’s usually never a good idea to surround yourself with colleagues who may be loyal and are willing to nod along with you. You end up promoting people not for ability but for other reasons.
Julian Smith was sacked. Why? Because he disagreed with Johnson over Brexit once and was an awkward sod? But he was arguably the most successful member of the cabinet and had built a trust going into Brexit negotiations in Ireland.

Where are any Site Rules being broken?
If they've any sense, Ich they'll realise the game Boris is playing. Once Brexit is done, there will be another reshuffle and more dynamic people will be brought in.
I don’t see that “getting Brexit done” had much to do with it other than that Javid was the last surviving opponent of “no deal”
He won’t be negotiating with the cabinet :-)

One reason for trying to control the treasury is presumably to clear the way to a splurge on budget day.
'other than that Javid was the last surviving opponent of “no deal”'

That kinda makes my point.

You may be right about the budget but with 5 years to go, why would there be a need to 'splurge'?
One potential reason for a potential splurge is to keep his Northern MP's happy?

Also any extra money for education and the NHS would be welcome but only if it was spent wisely for once.
All that money promised on the NHS, investment etc while at the same time not raising taxes (wasn’t there talk tho of a mansion tax?)
This is a government which wants do a lot of Labour-like things in the short term.
Effectively renationalising the railways being one possibility
But Sajid Javid wasn’t sacked.
He resigned

Who, apart from Corbyn, has mentioned doing this?
