retrocop- you know as well as I that lack of control through being under the influence of drugs (I include alcohol) leads to dreadful, unthought of actions.

The really horrible thing is that drugs are not only so easily available now, but are more socially acceptable. Hash, spliffs etc. were easily available when I was 20 (and younger) - but I never accepted any offers...… this was handy when teaching because I knew the smells!

It's the social acceptability that is the real problem, My grandchildren have been left in no doubt as to my reaction should they go within sniffing distance. How does one turn the tide? A course in morality and self-control would help, as well as giving assemblies daily in schools - with a basis in Christianity, duty and self-control. Well, I can be shot down by that, but never mind. :)

and anti social, iv seen it where peole i knew who used to socialise ie
go out for a meal or drink etc, stopped as they felt people were talking about them...

That's not true. Just get aj ob and buy or grow your own.

Unlike heroin or cocaine cannabis is easy to grow in your own home and it's the easiest illegal drug to obtain.

Fender if you have psychological problems then any drug will enhance those issues. However ingesting or smoking cannabis will not suddenly produce a mental illness that you didn't have preconditions of.

I mean, when you're high in theory you're experiencing mild psychosis because it alters your perception but this isn't a lasting affect when you "come down" off the high.

With one exception, everything you have said also applies to alcohol.

The exception is only - "Crime is inevitable to secure another fix." because you can walk into a pub on any high street and get a fix any time you feel like it.

The premise of the thread is the damage done by drugs, which is fine, as long as you don't step over the rank hypocrisy of cultural acceptance and encouragement of two drugs while jumping up and down about the evils of another
