Can Labour really afford To lose these big hitters as it surely will weaken the shadow cabinet in the future. After all she had the biggest majority in the last general election. She will be missed

Gollob, she’s not the sharpest tool in the box is she?
She's not a big hitter, she's a liability and will finally have been told so, albeit quietly by those who mtter in the party.

She'll not starve and I'm sure some lame cause or other will welcome her talents.
She will indeed be missed - by the Tories.
//She will be missed//

Problem is......you just can't count on her.

Quite a few will miss her for perhaps all the wrong reasons.

The majority a Minister enjoys has absolutely no bearing on the public's perception of them when they appear on TV, radio, or in print.

Ms. Abbott's majority is not in the forefront of voters' minds when she rocks up in the media making it clear that she is utterly unsuited for frontline politics, and has been promoted way above her abilities by a similarly unsuitable leader, who is now going, and she will have to go as well.
If she wins Rebecca long-Bailey is going to offer Jeremy Corbyn a place in her shadow cabinet, why?
To make her look better?
I doubt any of the three candidates would have offered her a place, so she's effectively got her resignation in early.
grumpy - // If she wins Rebecca long-Bailey is going to offer Jeremy Corbyn a place in her shadow cabinet, why? //

Because Jeremy is Momentum's Boy, and she hasn't a hope in hell of getting anywhere without their support.
Ellipsis - // I doubt any of the three candidates would have offered her a place, so she's effectively got her resignation in early. //

As dense as Ms. Abbott clearly is, even she can see the way things are going.
Also Andy-Hughes she’s supported by that well known dinosaur Len McCluskey.
> As dense as Ms. Abbott clearly is, even she can see the way things are going.

Unless of course she's slept with any of the current candidates ...
i am glad she is going, it;s about time..
