Totally agree with TTT 100%. The only good thing about Crufts is the dogs agility, they have such fun doing that. Anyone remember the poor german shepherd a few years ago who could barely walk due to the severe deformity of it back and back legs ?? Bred that way - disgusting !!!
Aunt Polly...while those examples are disgusting, where is the evidence that they are "real". In this age of computer enhancement who is to know.
Not to worry, I agree that the manipulation of the appearance of any animal for human vanity is wrong.
Pasta they are real -they are promotion photos for Stud Farms, but apart from that, having nearly 50 years experience in the horse world in North America and the UK I've seen it first hand :-(
Those poor little pug dogs or similar upset me with there squashed up faces who struggle to breath. In fact, I would extend that any dogs with unnatural proportions. All my dogs have been special and winners to me. I dont need them to win prizes.
HIA, I remember that GSD, that was cruel. Showing does seem to be more about what humans find attractive, than health. Same with human models really.
But two of my dogs do agility weekly and they love it.
