I suggested two weeks ago that they should close down the house of lords, more so now in view of todays news, if that lot go down with this virus, you can say goodbye to a whole boat load of intensive beds, more or less reiterated by Piers Morgan this morning.
Or is it a case of, I want my £300 a day, not sick pay, Don't do as I do, do as we say.

Won't they all have private care?

And so much for their statement 3 weeks ago, Quote, the NHS is well prepared, no no no, not when your local GPs are still waiting for a basic personal protection garment, to allow them to carry on doing their day to day appointments. Down right disgusting.
It's two MPs who are in isolation so should it not be the Commons, you're concerned about?
Question Author
^ both, but we don't need the house of lords operating at this moment in time.
Plus the average age in the H of L puts them into the most at risk category
TC, what if there is new emergency legislation and the Lords need to approve it?
Question Author
@11.40 with respect TCL we have been making excuses for weeks now why we shouldn't do this and that, and we've had more time to get prepared than any other country, the virus is not going to wait for us to go one way or the other. The times I've heard that the UK as been ready for anything like this to happen for years, and have already plans in place is poppy cock, the only thing in peoples upper mind is their wallet, hence the races allowed to go ahead, there's only going to be one winner at the races, and it won't be a horse or the bookies.
i'm pretty sure a horse and the bookies will be a winner at the races
Where is the medical advice saying the Lords should not be sitting at the moment?
Question Author
@12.09 short term winner, a fat wallet won't survive long term.
Question Author
@12.10 As Piers said this morning common sense is needed, is that not what their preaching to us time and time again?
Common sense....

Oh yes
Question Author
Yep, common sense is all you got left, because there is no medical advice, apart from the obvious directive. Large gatherings, washing.
Their daily allowance is going up to £323 from next month, tax-free. There'll be plenty who'll take the risk.
TC should large factories also shut down?
// Might be a whole load of dead Lords?//

yeah imagine someone pulling a tumbril round ( there is another word for a cart full of dead people) - "what you got dere den?"
near the house of lords but a worker - so he has an essex accent

a load of loaded lords ere mate ....
o god quoting Piers Moron ? There really is something wrong in this world

apart from the obvious directive. Large gatherings, washing.

er a
a load of loaded laundered lords ere mate ....

sad donkey I know I am a sad donkey

The biggest threat is to the old and the sick, and since neither are likely to turn out on Polling Day to vote for the Tories, Boris is quite happy to let the epidemic just run its course across the country and them die rather than "take draconian measures" (quote from him on TV).
Question Author
@12.45 You may have a point, but I wouldn't think so. But as one Doctor put it in Italy last night, we are wasting our time trying to keep people alive if we don't have intensive care beds, and staff. what he was saying is their already allowing folk to pass away.
