Does he really think that banning flights from the Schengen area is going to limit Covid cases in the USA? Has no-one told him that Covid is no respecter of boundaries? Of course he wouldn't want to include flights from the UK in the ban as that would upset his mate Boris. I despair of his intelligence.

Yes but the point is in both countries its probablyl well past the stage where stopping flights from abroad going to make any difference.

er 33 deaths US against 6 in UK
if the rate is 2% in each, then it is five times in the US and running the same per head of population

I don't notice for the very simple reason I haven't read a PP post for years - I can't be arsed to decipher them.

Diddlydo thinks Trump is naive, and is despairing of his intelligence. Putting to one side the irony of Diddlydo despairing of Trump's intelligence, it always makes me wryly smile when people level these allegations.

Trump is a multi-billionaire with an enormous empire and is the President of the world's most powerful country - essentially he's the most powerful man on the planet.

You do NOT get to that position by being naive and thick.

If we're talking about naivety, then look no further than this comment from Diddlydo.

The point is that Trump was very dismissive of Covid until very recently and even now, despite having been at events with people who have since tested positive, he reckons he doesn't need testing. How stupid is that? Going back to the flight ban from the Schengen area - has it not occurred to him that people from that area could simply fly to the UK and then hop on a plane to the USA? He really hasn't got a grip of the massive scale of this problem.
