//There maybe should be encouragement to use online shopping. //

the delivery service for the online shopper needs to bit a bit more robust than it currently is, before more users are encouraged - if you were to place an order today, willing to bet you won't get it until April.
//Troops To Protect Supermarkets ...//

Nay and thrice nay.

Like a Panzer force outside Aldi.
Sayeret units outside M&S.
Horse Guards patrolling Tesco.
US Marines bombing Asda with "friendly fire".
Dad's Army outside Sainsburys.

Nuurrsse.

Wrong Mushroom, with my Waitrose anyway. A few left for next next Friday 20th March and then plenty thereafter.
ladybirder can you get on the website?
It would be helpful if papers like the Mail didn’t ratchet up the collective anxiety by publishing things that “may” happen.
Cloverjo I so agree. irresponsible sensationalism.

Yes Woof I can, I went into next Friday's order to change some stuff but it wouldn't accept the changes so rather than risk losing my slot I've left it as it was and will go back in the early hours. I'm guessing they're overwhelmed as there were warnings.
Have you tried?
Ocado is showing a virtual queue too, was only nosying as I have a Tesco order placed for Thursday.
just tried again LB and its working again

Good. I went in again at 1.30am this morning and managed to change mine without problems. I hope tonight's struggle doesn't become the norm during this crisis but it is what it is so just have to get on with it. Sun's shining here which is lovely.
sunny and bright here too, chilly but no rain which is a mega plus.

Same here. I am intending to go into the garden today and deadhead my Lacecap Hydrangeas as the new shoots are sprouting. Got to wait for a phone call from the District Nurse first and if she doesn't hurry up the sun will be gone off my NE facing garden. Grrrh!
Lovely to see a bright blue sky and some sun, hope you manage some time outdoors LB.x
LB, no mobile or cordless phone?

Diminishing by the minute Mamya. Only one third of my garden still in sunlight and it's not the bit where I need to do the work. There's always tomorrow I suppose and the next day and the next ...
Woofy they don't have my mobile number and yes I have a cordless phone which doesn't work when I get down the garden unfortunately. In the past, I have fallen down my steps when rushing back to answer it. I'll give them my mobile when they phone today.

Just seen this from the English National Opera. I wonder whether it will be money back or an offer to see it at some later date when they are back in business.

Saved me cancelling.
I've had emails today telling me the National Film Theatre (as was) has postponed/cancelled its LGBT etc film festival, and the National Gallery has done the same to its exhibition of Artemisia Gentileschi.
Question Author
Are they offering you money back?
I hope we don't lose a lot of our wonderful theatres.
I hadn't booked for either of them (though I was planning to do so) but I certainly hope they would, without waiting to be sued for breach of contract.
all the Tate galleries are closing
