Any one who believes the Government is on top of things in the Corona crisis needs to watch this morning's Andrew Marr Show and the Michael Gove car crash interview.
From the email from the EU that no one saw and "it went to spam" to the companies in UK who told the P M they had thousands of ventilators available but no one answered their emails.
Gove, "I'll get on to that right away".
Marr, "Too late they have already gone to other countries".

Please usual commentators do not come back with the usual "political " bilge.
This is about keeping us alive and they are doing a woeful job.

it is remarkable that after instructing us all week on how we must isolate to protect ourselves from infection, three (at least) of the cabinet seem to have ignored their own advice. But we have an extremely inexperienced bunch of ministers at the moment; if the plague had struck five years later they might have been better organised. But they're what the electorate voted for.
Car Crash Interview?

They've certainly upped the ante from Carpool Karaoke.
Is the interview viewable anywhere ?
I'd expect it to play on a loop over at the BBC News Channel, anne.
Thanks. ( I’m asking for a friend )

what show were you watching? Were you just taking not of the bits that give you ammo to be anti British? At times like this we don't need trolls poo pooing everything for political point scoring. You lost the election, get over it.

Questions presumably have to asked about how it is that we went from "we're still in the contain phase" to "schools are shut and you can only leave your homes for the most essential reasons" in barely a week. The disease had been bouncing around the world for weeks, and in that regard it's no surprise that it came here, but still. Why wasn't widespread testing a priority?

Asking these questions isn't politically motivated, either.
You can't keep calling people who post something that you find not to your taste a troll, TTT.

Have a day off will you, it's rediculous, end of.
TTT good grief.....the government have handled this very badly (and are still doing so)...that is not anti british it is a comment on the suitability of the current government to govern effectively....
Lessons will be learned ... the hard way.
If it is true about the ventilators then Gove and his fellow Cons, should be ashamed of themselves. Not fit to Govern.
funny that only the lefties think the government has handled this badly!
//suitability of the current government to govern effectively//
well we had the opportunity to put jeremy in charge ...
I suppose it depends on your definition of 'lefties.
the best accolade that any government can receive is for people like gulliver to think they are not fit to govern, cheers Gully.
Sad that the cons think everything is great......really sad - and that rudeness is the way forward.....still thats the cons for you. The new Florence Nightingale 4000 bed hospital without the staff to work there.....just one example of madness.
I am not a leftie. You just have to look at how some countries have handled things better. Notably Germany.

Some questions driven by facts rather than politics:

* Where is the PPE gear for key workers?
* How are the Germans able to test so many more people than the Brits for Coronavirus?
* How did we miss buying so many ventilators and parts for them that our own manufacturers and suppliers sent them abroad?

I applaud the Government for the steps they've made to protect businesses, employees and the self-employed, but that doesn't absolve them of responsibility for their inability to give a straight answer questions like the above.
