On the subject of making a statement not entirely in line with reality, Robert Jenrick in his daily briefing on Friday stated that a cargo of PPE from Turkey was due to arrive in the country on the following day.
Whereas in fact that shipment was still awaiting clearance in the Sunday.
And as far as we know it’s still not arrived.
A government source admitted that they’d made a knowingly premature announcement to “put out a good news story”
