Trump has by his recent words and actions demonstrated that he is a 24 Carat certifiable lunatic.
How can any intelligent American citizen support such an extremist?

What's he actually said and about whom?
Or is it just in general?
I follow Trump on social media for the entertainment, and
today this popped up on his twitter feed. This is the whole thing mind. It's not an excerpt taken out of context or anything.

//...And then came a Plague, a great and powerful Plague,
and the World was never to be the same again! But America
rose from this death and destruction, always remembering its
many lost souls, and the lost souls all over the World, and
became greater than ever before! //

The musings of a stable genius.

I don't know if that is what you're referring to or one of the many other things he's said recently that would fit the bill.
rich - Money and access to power can get you a very very long way in this world.

History is littered with people of less than sound mind who have achieved high office, and done dreadful things with it.

Trump is one more in a very long line.
It is only Trump Haters that take him literally - article in the Times by Gerard Baker. Voters ignore what he says ( wise move! ) and just wanna vote for him again

problem is - alot of what Trump does ( or more accurately fails to do but should do ) affects us
To,us
that is trump in apocalyptic mood innit?
and there is plenty to be apocalyptic about

the style is deffo St John the Divine - no I dont recommend it but if you do then you will find parallels - and there is a strong end of times movement in America at present
PP // that is trump in apocalyptic mood innit?
……….
and there is a strong end of times movement in America at present //

Well this is the thing PP. It's probably not as insane or pointless a tweet as it first appears. It's more likely electioneering. Going for the thick looney Christian fundamentalist vote by going into fire and brimstone mode. Judging by the comments underneath it it's worked a treat as well. There's never been any shortage of thick looney fundamentalists in America.
^ of course that's the spin I'd put on it if I were a Trump fan. It may well be just as insane and pointless as it first appears.
I'm most likely wrong but seem to remember from history lessons that the Black Plague occurred before America had been discovered by the European world.
Makes trump's statement even more interesting.
Making molars grate again

Clearly you are allowing tiresome historical accuracy get in the way of the point here -

As long as the President can point to something where America is the best, and rose again and is wonderful, and ideally he can add his name in as the reason for that, then why let facts get in the way.
I assume the plague he is referring to is the current coronavirus.
Hopkirk - // I assume the plague he is referring to is the current coronavirus. //

Who knows … who cares!
Is he referring to the present plague or the Polio one in 1914 or the more recent swine flu pandemic in 2009 ?
andres - // Is he referring to the present plague or the Polio one in 1914 or the more recent swine flu pandemic in 2009 ? //

Are you doing the President the utterly unmerited courtesy of knowing what you are talking about there - or understanding, or caring?

He is incapable of any of those things - and the evidence of that mounts every day he sits Twitfacing away like some petulant teenager.

Leave Greta out of it, she has her own thread. ;o)
Its probably the same here in Britain. At the last election it was a choice between a totally useless and incompetent Johnson and a totally useless and incompetent Corbyn. The electors chose the least of two evil scumbags. It is the same in America,a lecherous and discredited Trump and a lecherous and discredited Biden.Heaven help us.
I don't think any of the four people mentioned can truly be called evil, Ynnafymmi. Three are definitely creepy (Biden/Corbyn/Trump), misogynistic is appropriate for the two Americans, and possibly Boris, deranged for Trump and Jezza, and there's a case for all to be considered incompetent, but evil is a bit strong.
ynnafymmi - There are a number of people posting on this site, who think Boris Johnson is the messiah.
@Mozz.A lot of people i spoke to at the last election,a lot said they only voted Johnson because he was the lesser of two evils.I stand by my words.
