the film Hidden Figures on Film 4 Monday evening at 9pm. We watched it last time it was on and it is superb. It is a true story about the space race in the USA and the part that several black women played in it. They had to use separate toilets and separate coffee machines to the white people but the part they played is immense. They were all recognised by the US government years later. It stars Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer. Well worth watching.
Just looked at the cast list for The Gentlemen. Very nice. Will certainly have a look at that. Also recommend Gifted with Chris Evans (Captain America). It is about a little girl who is maths genius and has lived with her uncle since her mother died and then Grandma comes along and wants custody. I really enjoyed it.
Indeed a great film, although it's worth noting that some of the details are embellished. Not enough, though, by any means, to undermine its message. And the story about John Glenn wanting Katherine Johnson to check figures for his upcoming space flight is absolutely true. Sadly, Johnson died a couple of months ago.
