On BBC Five Live we've just had a phone in on the Dominic Cummings situation, now we have the Emma Barnett show, and the topic is, you've guessed it, Dominic Cummings!!
Have the BBC got an agenda, come on, let it go!
He has explained what happened but the BBC will not be happy until he resigns, they are leading a witch hunt imho, disgusting behaviour, for heavens sake, change the record, shelve it and move on!!
I thought Emma Barnett did a good job of challenging those trying to defend the indefensible. But I switched off when she started interviewing people who'd had family die in care homes. First the blame being laid at Matt Hancock and Boris's door for people being released from hospital with Covid but Emma did not ask whether and why the hospital not Boris/Matt...
how much quicker the justice system would work if we could just listen to the defendant deny everything and then say "Okay, we've heard your story, you can go home free now."
I don't think Brexit got as many threads in one day as the Dom managed. The latest posts atm is 4 Dom based posts (haven't looked at the saw a fox thread...so it could be 5)
If I was a gambling man (ahem!) i'd be betting my last shilling on DC being the lead story on the Jeremy Vine prog at noon. Though I don't think i'd be making much as the odds, surely, would be a tad cramped :-)
I used to have LBC on in the car and the wife has it going in the kitchen. From early a.m. to late evening every presenter following each other have had no other topic other than a mob rule phone in on DC. I just don't bother with that station any longer as I thought the beeb was totally biased but James O'Brien is so anti Tory he is still squeezing a Brexit gripe in.The only decent presenters are Farage and Ferrari who,at least, don't shout down listeners to push a partial agenda.
The BBC are following a news story that every other major media outlet, plus social media stream is covering.
You can go to 4online, Sky, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, Twitter, Facebook, The Daily Telegrapgh, Huffington Post, The Standard ITV.com, and see that the top story is Cummings?

But I switched off when she started interviewing people who'd had family die in care homes. First the blame being laid at Matt Hancock and Boris's door for people being released from hospital with Covid but Emma did not ask whether and why the hospital not Boris/Matt had chosen to do this; and then when she started asking the bereaved what they thought of Dominic Cummings I decided perhaps there is an overeagerness here to push an agenda
On the AnswerBank alone posts that focus on Cummings have generated 780 posts. That indicates that the story is of interest to people, whether you support him or not.
Retrocop- I think Iain Dale is fair and sometimes Tom Swarbrick. Yes, I switched James Obrien off last week when he was going on about "you lot who voted for the nonsense that was Brexit … you led us to this"
