Today's briefing must've been the shortest question and answer from Robert Peston I've ever seen.

He asked about Matt Hancock's childcare arrangements compared with DCs and MH came back with a swift "We had childcare readily available at home and Mr Cummings didn't." That was it - The End. Without a chance of a come back he cut RP off.

I'm certainly not complaining and I did find it quite amusing.....sorry.

I suspect all politicians supporting Mr Cummings have been instructed to shut down any more questions about him - let's face it, they want this embarrassment gone, and answering questions simply keeps its profile up.
Seems a reasonable and sufficient reply, doesn't it?
I know, I roared. The biter bit.
Indeed Andy but others were given longer replies and the opportunity to ask supplementals.
The press are like a dog with a bone at the moment, the questions have been hijacked for the last few days and I would prefer they ask questions about testing/treatments/future plans/the lockdown instead of the same boring questions.
Me too!
Thank God for that! This rubbish has gone on long enough.
"Without a chance of a come back he cut RP off. " - I'd do that from the start to these eejits. They don't care about the answer they jusy want to trip up a minister, fight fire with fire.
The behaviour of the journalists over this affair has been disgraceful, so I was delighted the way the incredibly irritating Peston was shut down.

The journalists at the daily Covid briefing should be forewarned that their questions should be relevant to the briefing, otherwise they will not be answered and the next journalist moved on to.

Peston asked a completely irrelevant question.
Deskdiary - // The behaviour of the journalists over this affair has been disgraceful … //

In what way exactly?
The 'When did you stop beating your wife' type questions, the hectoring, the (non-socially distanced) unedifying scrummages outside his house and everywhere else he goes, and so on...
Anything that shuts Petson up is A OK in my book!
If there were no jounalists asking questions how would the general public know what was actually going on?

You can't imagine that proven liars (no names, no packdrill) would volunteer anything remotely approaching the truth.

Can you?
Does Nicola face a barrage of questions like this from the press at her briefings, Douglas?
The First Miniature tends to answer questions.

Want to give it a try?
I dislike that arrogant Peston. So full of himself, he needs a wet slap.
It was a genuine question douglas but the sometimes witty one liners are all I should expect from you
Peston tries to give the laid back attitude with his lazy, bored drawl. Any more laid back and he'll end up on his a#$e.
I did give you an answer, do you have one for us?

I'm not not certain but I think DCs 4yo is on the spectrum.

When my son was younger I had problems leaving him with people he knew for a couple of hours let alone overnight.
