When watching the service for George Floyd there the minister said we will stand 8min 46 second it won’t be comfortable .I stood and as I do suffer with a bad back it was quite uncomfortable but it was I’m sure absolutely nothing to what George Floyd went through .It gave us an idea of how long 8 minutes is when you are not comfortable .So it gives some idea of the time when so much could have been done and how it should not have ended as it did .

I did too. A very long 8 minutes.
Whilst I deplore what happened to George Floyd , all this bending of the knee and standing for 8 minutes + seems so....
I’m just not sure what impact it has , sorry
Why does having empathy, or even sympathy, for a tragic event have to be expressed in some physical way?

Well to me it was not just a video of a man in distress but it was of how long 8 minutes is when you are in distress .
I can feel it for him without doing something , and I do
Lucky he wasn't shot with eejits like you walking among us.
Who Spicey ?
The OP or any other idiot kneeling/standing for 8 pointless minutes.
They'd probably shoot themselves in sympathy.
No sympathy whatsoever for criminals. Other people have died as a direct result of this. I see no standing or kneeling or protesting for them.
// Who Spicey ?//
oh - some half crazed octogenarian who posts non-sequiturs as telling points of fact

oh oh who do you refer to, Spicey ? sozza sooza

I was answering the typical AB "who spicey" as "who is spicey" as part of the daily AB diet of Who dat den? what he mean den and so on and so on that we wade thro on a daily basis

er yes I think physical actions do have significance
as 8 mins silence is a re-enactment
Part of the outrage is the non church going President ( the greatest man on earth as we know from AB ) brandishing a bible - unread. I think I might object to a godless adulterer stating that god was on his side ..... they certainly did
// No sympathy whatsoever for criminals. //
what the death penalty for passing a forged $20 note ?
seems a bit harsh doesn t it?
obviously not harsh enough to the hang em high crowd thronging nightly AB
But harsh Naomi. No one deserves to dislike that, regardless of colour.
Sharon, I didn't say he deserved it. I said I have no sympathy with criminals.
Do you have sympathy with murder victims Naomi - perhaps if they're criminals too? I've got a speeding conviction. Does that mean you wouldn't be bothered if the police had killed me when they pulled me over?
Are you black, tomus?
Zacs what difference does it make??
why is no one interested in the root cause of this whole episode?
And what is that Tora in your opinion?
Tomus, I didn’t say he deserved to die - I said I have no sympathy with criminals. Criminals choose to commit crime and in doing so they take their chances - always. Are you kneeling and standing or protesting about the others who lost their lives in this mayhem? It seems no one has given them a second thought - but then they're not high profile so why would anyone want to jump on a non-existent bandwagon? No publicity in that.
