Its not about his criminality. Its about the manner in which he died and who was responsible for it - someone trusted to uphold the law. All this together with footage of his death (tantamount to a snuff movie) probably does need to be acknowledged somehow.

I’m hardly part of the TTT fan-club (unless we’re wittering about cars), but I agree that this really is a nonsense.
The circumstances of Mr Floyd’s death were shameful and may (or may not) provoke some long needed changes in race relations in the US and possibly elsewhere too - but celebrating his memory in Parliament is bonkers.

As terrible as his death was he was not a Saint nor a Martyr , I believe people in this country are now being swept along in a tide of hero worship , I’m pleased the policeman concerned will face a court of law for what he’s done but this worship of a man that was a thug and a drug taker is beyond the pale now

As advised, it's the manner of this man's death, not his criminal history that is the issue.
As I have said before, we don't operate a sliding scale where rights to human treatment are diminished on the basis of how someone has behaved in their past.

//It needs to be acknowledged and dealt with in the country where it occurred, not in the House of Commons where they don't even acknowledge the murder of serving police officers.//
I agree but as we have seen over the last several days this incident has transcended far and wide resulting in demos, protests and even destruction in many cities around the world. The government can't ignore that.
