Is This Word Allowed To Be Used In This Country?

Watching Neighbours yesterday and the story was about a pride festival they were putting on. One of the characters said oh the queer community will love this and again the word was mentioned by one of the other characters and not with any malice. It took be aback really as I don't think I've heard that on our screens for a long time.

I heard it on a TV show a few weeks ago in relation to LGBT, and I wondered the same thing as the word itself means odd or strange.

Gay people use the word "queer" all the time to describe themselves, and that's fine. Non-gay people using it is not acceptable.

woofgang I see that is an American reality show so perhaps it is a word still used in America? I often wonder if the President knows what we refer to as a Trump!

Does it really matter? These old common useage adjectives have been hijacked by the minority. If it is deemed offensive then make up a new adjective. I once described the late Mikey as a ‘bachelor gay’ and some morons found it offensive.
Obviously no fans of musicals.

Black people can call eachother the 'N' word but for anyone else its an insult. Same with the Gay community. They can call a friend an old queer but you as a straight person can't (well you can but its not PC)
