The money this cost is a drop in the ocean in that sense. It would go nowhere. Free of the stranglehold constraints of the EU this country is about to launch itself, once again, onto the world stage and to do that with any sense of personal worth it needs to take pride in what it is - a great nation and a world leader, as it always has been - but I don’t suppose the final bit of that last sentence will go down well either. Best we pull a few more statues down and start manufacturing hair shirts in all sizes. That should bring a few cheers.

Its still insensitive as is your comment. As much as I like the design and agree that the plane looks beautiful, the upgrade should have been postponed and a the small sum of £900,000 diverted to help save a few jobs. The PR and the moral boost would have been worth every drop in the ocean penny.
