the question now is, what day should we have as independence day bank holiday? 24/06/2016, 01/01/2020 or 01012021?

No point in having a bank holiday on 1st January as it is already one so perhaps 24/6/2016 would be best.

Fair enough Tigs, they are known in the trade as kin eejits. Regardless of how they voted they should have prepared for their own situation. However there is a process for them to be allowed to stay wherever it is, is there not?
