// We have no intention of going anywhere near Scotland, miserable people on AB, so why would the rest be any different?//
Thats lovely that is. Surely you being BAME would realise the nastiness of grouping one set of people from certain ethnic origins into one boat and calling them all miserable.
I shall take the knee for Scotland :-)

Why the inverted commas?
If you share my view that no-one actually 'possesses' the country of their birth and / or domicile, then fair enough, but I am usually in a serious minority on here, and attract some brisk upbraiding as a result.

We love going to Scotland once a year and usually take a cottage in the Borders. Last year it was at Auchtermuchty in Fife, and a lovely holiday it was, too. This year we had booked one near Dumfries - obviously it was cancelled (June) but now we have our cash back we are looking to book again in September. We are not going to Scotland because of Surgeon and her 'face masks almost everywhere' policy. I'm asthmatic (it inhibits my breathing after a few minutes) and OH has both spectacles and hearing aid tubes over his ears, so masks don't really work and are highly uncomfortable for him.
We are now looking at somewhere in Northumberland - just trying to find one that doesn't issue a caveat saying 'no cushions or towels because of Covid' - how come they can provide bedding? Anyway, monetarily it is Scotland's loss and we have always felt welcome there (it helps that I'm half Scottish and can switch into Glaswegian if needed!)
