No. the only legal mandate on face coverings - not masks - is when boarding or traveling on public transport. the police have no power to fine you in any other situation - including bus stops and rail stations.

Have one ready to wear in situations where it makes sense. That is reasonable.
I suspect that some are trying to make a political statement out of it in the way that has perhaps understandably happened in America.
Here we don’t like enforcing things - especially where they have impractical consequences at times - which is why thankfully we’ll never go in the opposite direction with “face coverings” (I suspect that one’s even deader in the water now)

I wear one in shops or in busy places where it's difficult to mantain social distancing. The only problem it gives me is that I'm hard of hearing and make up for that by lip reading.

^ Then that should have been made clear, it's the same ruling in Spain currently - however there is enough panic in the UK without clouding the issue further with incorrect rules.
I've never even tried one on yet, I will only wear one when I have to and as I never travel on a bus and rarely a train I expect that time will come if I can finally get on a plane.

Paranoic experts. We're avoiding getting close and not joining groups, that's a decent balanced reaction. I can see the usefulness when, say, on the tube and crammed in, but otherwise it's a step too far. Some seem to demand a risk free world and want us to go to any lengths in an effort to achieve it. It isn't reasonable since it isn't achievable.

I wear one when I go in shops or in the town, as I have a permanent cough and don't think people would be happy if I coughed near them without one. Have been told I must wear one when I go for my hairdressing appointment next week, though I would anyway. I have the sort that are supposed to protect me as well so it makes me less nervous about going out into more crowded places, though I always go out late afternoon when it's not busy and very rarely at that.

Yes of course. I already wear a mask on public transport, I am asthmatic. There are some conditikns excused from having to wear face masks on public transport. I dont mind at all extending when I wear one for mine & everyones sake if that is what it takes.

I've made a covering in case I want to get on a bus but I can't see what use it will be as it's only a single layer of fabric. Even that makes me feel claustrophobic so I certainly wouldn't choose to wear it routinely.

Yes I live abroad and I meant if you come here or to Spain masks are mandatory and the rule is complied with and enforced. Livelihoods here are heavily dependent on tourists and while some citizens in the 18 to 30 age group have been flouting the rules most people are complying. Local lockdown has been reinforced quickly and fines imposef

The'virus' has over a 99% recovery rate and was downgraded from an HCID 4 days BEFORE lockdown by the Government. So not so deadly after all!

The paranoia of some people is laughable; on more than one occasion I’ve been walking the dog in wide open spaces and have seen other dog walkers wearing masks. The likelihood of them catching, or passing on, Covid in a wide open space is, I would suggest, zero.

Yes I wear one. Frankly I don't care if I look ridiculous, folks think its unnecessary and people wearing them are paranoid. It should be mandatory on all public transport and in shops.

But should you develop symptoms, as you’re adamantly vehement about wearing one, you’ll do the decent thing and not burden the NHS by turning up at hospital, will stay at home and ride it out, yes?
