Once the corona virus lockdown was implemented, my local Boots store started restricting entry to one person at a time – this despite the store being over 500 square metres in size.

Whilst waiting outside in-line to collect my regular medical prescription, I thought to myself – you don’t need more than a low double digit IQ to realise that by operating such a scheme, within a very short time period the business will go bust. But this seems to have been beyond the comprehension of Boots CEO.

Tony - Perth is a city but it isn't very big. The Boots store seems too big for us. Since I became really unwell I have not been to that bit of town - and it is not far from here.

We have lost Gap, Laura Ashley and many others that I have forgotten about. I like B&M and Pets at Home - but someone burned them down last year. I hope that they will be back B&M is like Woolworths.

Life has changed so much, some are not very positive changes but I think that we will adapt.
Jackdaw - I volunteer in an Oxfam bookshop. We are opening up again next week. I am going in today to do some work - we have thousands of books to sell online. Our books are not cheap compared with other charity shops but we get donations of rare/collectable/unusual books. There is a vast selection.
There are more charity shops than any other type.

Same here ( I left those out because I know that Susan do's part time work in one of them ).

I'm sure that we will, Susan ( it's not for the better imo though, Susan )
I have heard that John Lewis is also shutting quite a lot of shops, In my neck of the woods they are closing Tamworth and Birmingham. The one in Brum is massive and is a flag ship store, can't see anyone taking that over unless it's divided up into smaller area's.
You might like to give the on-line address of your shop. I am interested in books now that I can read again after having my cataracts removed.
I would advise against giving website addresses for employers, especially those with a small number of employees.

Sadly, the information might be used in a negative manner.

corbs, you only have to google!
We only have one pharmacy in our localtown centre (if you can call it a town centre these days!). Fortunately when they built the huge medical centre on the outskirts a Ĺloyds/Newark chemist/pharmacy moved in as well and is brilliant. It sells all sorts of things and is far superior to Boots. There really is no need for anybody to go to Boots any more. Town buses and age concern mini buses frequently run to the Health Centre.
Forgot - there is a Superdrug in town. We haven't aactually ventured tnto the middle of town for ages. No reason to go!
Another High st name about to disappear, but as Nancy said.
"These Boots were made for walking"
Boots, my wife’s former employer, went downhill rapidly when it was bought up by an American company.
I was in our local Boots a couple of weeks ago and had excellent advice from the staff there. I had to go because our local chemist didn’t have what I wanted
First off Boots along with many other stores have gone way over the top with this social distancing especially when they have big stores, they are shooting themselves in the foot. At the same time Boots for a long time have been very expensive.

I like Boots and I will miss it if it leaves my town.

Looks like there's a LOT of spammers about today.
It does, doesn't it?
