Boots Cuts 4,000 Jobs
Once the corona virus lockdown was implemented, my local Boots store started restricting entry to one person at a time – this despite the store being over 500 square metres in size.
Whilst waiting outside in-line to collect my regular medical prescription, I thought to myself – you don’t need more than a low double digit IQ to realise that by operating such a scheme, within a very short time period the business will go bust. But this seems to have been beyond the comprehension of Boots CEO.

We have lost Gap, Laura Ashley and many others that I have forgotten about. I like B&M and Pets at Home - but someone burned them down last year. I hope that they will be back B&M is like Woolworths.
Life has changed so much, some are not very positive changes but I think that we will adapt.

Jackdaw - I volunteer in an Oxfam bookshop. We are opening up again next week. I am going in today to do some work - we have thousands of books to sell online. Our books are not cheap compared with other charity shops but we get donations of rare/collectable/unusual books. There is a vast selection.

I'm sure that we will, Susan ( it's not for the better imo though, Susan )
I have heard that John Lewis is also shutting quite a lot of shops, In my neck of the woods they are closing Tamworth and Birmingham. The one in Brum is massive and is a flag ship store, can't see anyone taking that over unless it's divided up into smaller area's.

We only have one pharmacy in our localtown centre (if you can call it a town centre these days!). Fortunately when they built the huge medical centre on the outskirts a Ĺloyds/Newark chemist/pharmacy moved in as well and is brilliant. It sells all sorts of things and is far superior to Boots. There really is no need for anybody to go to Boots any more. Town buses and age concern mini buses frequently run to the Health Centre.
