I hope this particular blast of optimism from the PM for once proves correct.

Gave up watching mickey mouse cartoons, years ago .
Boris has never told the truth yet, so whatever he has promised you ,is a lie.

Interesting Gulliver so how come you act like you know so much about * what’s going on here * :0)))
Question Author
Make your mind up, you said you never watch him ! Or /// Mickey Mouse cartoons///
He’s right to be optimistic IMO: merely dangling doom
and gloom in front of people is likely to be counterproductive after all this time.
"Radicalised"
Gulliver //Radicalised"
Yes, you certainly are.

The worst word ever to be introduced to the English language and Gully wears it out, sighhhh
He looks more like Deputy Dawg than Mickey Mouse.
OK , Tunnel Vision or Brainwashed then , the latter does not apply to Tory supporters on A/B.
Didn’t watch the briefing.

Isn’t this yet more mixed messaging.
Yesterday we were told the Government are planning for a winter surge in coronavirus, maybe 100,000 deaths.

But today the message is ‘it’ll all be over by Christmas’.

I suppose if they say two different things, they stand a chance of being right 50% of the time, instead of being wrong all the time.
Gromit, planning for something that might or might not happen is the sensible thing to do.He did not say that it would be over by Christmas. He said he hoped it would.
Hope is not a strategy.
Like the war?
ellipsis //Hope is not a strategy.//
Who said that it was?
Does anyone really believe we could have 100 000 deaths from Covid over the winter? I'm quite sure if there was another outbreak, the elderly and people with underlying health conditions would stay indoors as much as possible and, with the NHS well prepared, the effects would be kept fairly well controlled.

He did say he wouldn’t hesitate to lock down those areas where the numbers are increasing ( giving more power to local authorities) to do this but a full lockdown would be unlikely to happen again
