And before anyone says it ,Philip May did not deserve a knighthood just for being married to Theresa.
Can we have a link for this?
Usual cronyism, no surprises there.
//Theresa May’s husband Philip has been handed a knighthood for “political service”.//

//Jo Johnson was on the list of new peerages nominated by the prime minister published on Friday.//

//It marks a swift return to parliament for the PM’s brother, who dramatically quit the Commons entirely last year in protest at Boris Johnson’s Brexit policy.

Jo Johnson campaigned for Remain in 2016 and was a public supporter of holding a second referendum.//

Surprised Boris hasn't somehow involved Nigel Farage somewhere in this Fiddle.

It's basically is to balance out the fact that the upper house was top top heavy labour peers and remainers.
Thanks for the links bookbinder and apc
top heavy with Labour members?? Nonsense.

//The Conservatives were the largest political party, with 241 Members (30%).
Crossbenchers were the second largest grouping (24%).//

Can not see any females on the list of honours . Thought he would have given,
Jennifer Acuri one.
I could give you the link non if I could find it again!
Tory Govt appoints Tories to the Lords shocker.

In other news, the previous Labour Govt appointed Labour Lords.

You really must try harder Gulliver.
when did a Labour PM last appoint his own brother, Deskdiary?

Gordon Brown's brothers weren't politicians.

Tony Blair's brother wasn't a politician.

James Callaghan's brother was a US Admiral.

I don't know about Harold Wilson's brothers, and can't be arsed to go down to Attlee.

So, your point being?
The UK unitary parliamentary constitutional monarchy with its 'representative government', further distancing itself from democracy.

The whipping system* and and the 'payroll vote' give the lie to that 'representative' fallacy, but 'House of Lords' doesn't even have that thin 'democratic' veneer of justification in its charade.

*'payroll vote' - "The size of this bloc is substantial and has been increasing over time. Immediately after the 2005 general election, there were 89 ministers and 51 parliamentary private secretaries in the Commons, accounting for 40% of Labour Members of Parliament." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payroll_vote

How about " Sir Dominic Cummings." for his services as chief Puppet Master of the Con Party.
Just heard through the grapevine that Jeremy Corbyn is going to be a peer for his services to the conservative party.
The most successful politician, in getting 100% his promises, should get something.

But he wont as he has upset the NWO.
Jo Johnson isn't a politician. (He's actually the nice guy of the family, I've had dealings with him.) Nonetheless if I were queen my rule would be: no peerages for family members, whatever party.

It's called nepotism and it's interesting to see people defending it - as long as it's somebody they adore.
