Open Office is more akin to Word. Free to download and use.

For completeness . . .

OpenOffice has long been the most popular alternative to Microsoft Word and it's what I use myself. (Link above).

However Libre Office has been gaining rapidly in popularity, especially among AB members, and is now the preferred choice of the editors of several computing magazines.
