Private Eye
Three interesting facts in the current issue:-
If you are under the age of 35 you are more likely to die in a road traffic accident than from the corona virus.
There are currently 118 countries the Foreign Office now advises against ‘all but essential travel’ to because of ‘unacceptably high risk’ from Covid-19.
There are only 2 countries with a higher number of deaths from Covid-19 than the UK.

I'm sure that's true but it's irrelevant. People under 35 can pass it on and infect family, friends, work colleagues, the local community. What do you think it shows? Does it make the 50000 or so UK deaths any less concerning?
As for the useless stat restrictions on travel, have you considered that current data on infections in Barcelona, Madrid, France, etc may be more relevant than the number of deaths in say care homes here last April

Not driving lowers your chance of dying in an RTA. This is especially true of younger people. As a pedestrian I’m guessing age doesn’t matter so much apart from I guess older people may injure more and would be slower to react and get to safety. Still not sure how any of that relates to risk of getting COVID.
I have always enjoyed Private Eye since I first saw it 45 years ago. The magazine has not become more left wing. Hislop (its editor) is conservative in attitude and not one to switch in his fifties.
Anyone thinking the Eye has changed, is actually suffering from their own moral compass veering more Rightwards to the current Governments.
