We are always being told by the anti British and LibFac hordes that UK is the lowest of the low and heaven lies across the channel. Why then do thousands risk death to get to this "terrible" country. Surely they should apply for asylum in the utopia they are already in. France ain't too bad is it?
The vast majority of the channel crossers are exploited by people traffickers. The way to deal with this difficult issue is to work with France and other countries to smash these criminal gangs.
//(where do these destitute people fleeing war torn countries get the money?)//
Where indeed? We hear that some of them pay many thousands of pounds for their seat in a rubber boat (why they don't just buy one of their own for far less is a bit of a mystery). But the picture is not of destitute refugees, fleeing from war-torn areas having only the clothes they stand up in. We're being had over, it's as simple as that, and anybody thinking otherwise needs to wake up and smell the coffee. If you're "proud" that your country is being taken for a gigantic ride, that's your privilege. There's lots of things about which I am proud of the UK. Being taken for a nation of mugs is not one of them.
"Mayor of Calais Natacha Bouchart blames British benefits system for migrant influx Politician in charge of the French port tells British MPs that generous handout to asylum seekers in Britain."
The thing is, "generous" is a subjective opinion, and a coutry is entitled to set them higher than it's neighbours without it being used as a feeble excuse for others' actions. Blame lies with the illegal immigrants, the folk abetting them, and a lack of law enforcement preventing illegal action. It does not lie with a country deciding what safety net it's legitimate citizens have access to, or the amount charitably given to the desperate who don't qualify at legitimate citizens. To try to place blame there is pure buck passing.
It may not be the main factor but sometimes families club together to finance one of their young men to make the journey in that hope that once he is here he can bring more family members across
Goodness me ! Allenlondon seems to think that present day France is going to gas to death all the illegal immigrants whom we don't want coming here ! Has anyone informed the UN ? Maybe Private Eye has some information about it.
13.02, I'm trying help ttt be constructive, stop hiding behind the front door shouting and screaming, get out there on the beach and tell them what you think, look how many you could have turned back today, another wasted day. What's on the menu in the morning.? :0)))
The idea is to clamp down on all immigration. Not just illegals. Although there is already talk about changing the law in order to tackle the "illegals" situation. One of the many benefits of having already exited ?
It was not just about immigration. It was about everything we needed to take back control of in order to regain our sovereignty. Stopping being open house to all & sundry is an important part. One can not achieve something as and for the nation if the moment one succeeds at something everyone decides to come and grab a share and destroy whatever was achieved. Also it makes no sense keeping someone on welfare because they're unemployed in order to pay for an immigrant to do the work and take/send their money back to their home country. Or to stay and swell the population of already overcrowded islands.
Rent or lease a cruise ship, put the illegals on cruise ship.
Ship to be moored in the middle of the North Sea.
Have a helicopter fly over once a week with a food drop.
They will then have safety, shelter and food.
Like Alba said, something like ..HM Prison Weare, moor it well off the coast, plenty of food and drink, process claims, accepted, heli to the uk, not accepted, heli to france.
