Lets Hope This Doesnt Get Overturned

Personally I would have given this savage 51 days and on each day put a photo of a victim in his cell that he had to apologise to continually. Then I would string him up.
But, in the absence of hanging NZ have given the man the proper sentence, life without parole. I just hope that no liberal do-gooder in the future tries to get him out, like Lord Longford.
I just hope he rots in his cell until he is carted out feet first. Absolute scum.

You need to stop thinking that the person criticising you must therefore, hold the opposite view to you otherwise you just create a dead-end to your own post. I'm pretty sure PP was pointing out that id anyone on AB would be screaming from the rafters about the death penalty it would be one of about 3 or 4 ABers.

The usual argument against the death penalty is that if it subsequently came to light that the hanged person was innocent after all, then there's no going back, whereas someone in prison could be released, compensated or otherwise. Fair enough - that is undeniably true.
However, that surely doesn't apply in this case. The murderer has admitted his guilt, there's no question of his taking the rap for someone else.
Despite being a "leftie", I can see no other fitting punishment for this person than the death penalty.
