For many decades I have greatly admired many people from all walks of life without being concerned by a different skin colour.

Nat King Cole, Shirley Bassey,Stevie Wonder. Trevor McDonald,Morgan Freeman, Sammy Daviis jnr. Will Smith, Denzel Washington . Hundreds more bur you get the gist.

Unfortunately, and I am quite ashamed to say it, but thanks to that Dixon woman on BGT I have a different , no a new outlook when I see a person of a different colour.

My first thought is, I wonder what the chip on their shoulder is ?

It occurs to be that this growing sinister BLM movement will do far more damage than any good it may have done.

Anyone else feel the same ?

And it was only a blinking necklace BUT it spoke volumes

No. Nothing will change for me about people with a different skin colour.
No. If your views are altered by one mixed race woman (as if they are all the same...), then that proves their point, not yours.
I didn't see BGT, but I guarantee that anything Alesha says or wears, wouldn't make me think differently about different races in general. You are shooting yourself in the foot a bit here.
SK // I wonder what the chip on their shoulder is ?//
It wouldn't cross my mind unless the person's activity gave me the impression that he/she had a chip on their shoulder.
And it was only a blinking necklace.
I'd be ashamed to say that, too.....
The reason I won't be watching it anymore I said in Webbo's thread, I don't want political statements while watching what passes for Saturday night entertainment, so Alesha can go kiss my white ass now :0(

It is the BLM movement which I find disconcerting. Rather than bringing the whole of humanity to a sense of togetherness, I fear it is causing a certain amount of alienation.
No, it wouldn't alter how I perceive others.

At the moment Alesha is being a bit of diva because she has the stage to do it,I really don't think she's thought it through.
Sparkly, I think most people are intelligent enough to realise there will always be a minority of trouble makers. There is no reason for her views, to reflect on non-white people, women, singers, mothers, or any other way you want to categorise her... she's as individual as anyone else.
Those inclined to think badly of others will always find examples to reinforce their jaundiced views.

My point exactly. I presume you are referring to BLM followers.

Hi JJ. BA for your collection.
What does it say, jj?

I don't watch BGT, so I don't know what chip you perceive that she is wearing on her shoulder

However , true or not I must say that is a very odd and flawed view to to have of an entire race of people
Blimey, 1 piece of apparel on 1 person has made you overturn decades of thinking 1 way and completely reversed it?
If the actions of a single person affect you to such a degree, your views must change on a daily basis.

The necklace was just the tip of the iceberg.
My opinion is that the BLM movement is creating more divisions than unisons.
Question Author
Lots of you are entirely missing the point. Dixon was presenting herself as an ambassador for the BLM movement.
Nobody else is able to change your views, particularly about entire races.
