//...most peopel support these things for now...//
How do you know?
For the purposes of this debate I'm not arguing over whether the measures are right or wrong, nor am I considering how many people support them and how many do not. When this all kicked off seven months ago I understood that quick action was necessary. I didn't necessarily agree with all of it but I could see the urgency. However, since then Parliament has had no input to all the various measures that have been imposed. A typical example of the results of this is the 10pm curfew. If the matter had been debated it might, just might, have become apparent that it may cause more problems than it solves. As it was, it was imposed by diktat as one of the many knee jerk reactions that have taken place and the results were plain for all to see last weekend. I agree it is sensible to reduce contact as far as practically possible, but not at the expense of everything else. But that said, that measure has achieved precisely the opposite in may places.
I don't think I ever mentioned my world being turned upside down by having to eat or drink earlier and that's unsurprising because in fact it makes scarcely any difference to me (though I'm getting used to having my views misrepresented by one or two here on AB).
It would be sad (rather than inconvenient) to lose friends to this disease and I do know because in fact I've lost two. Hopefully none of my other friends were among the 13 who died from Covid yesterday. However, there were about 1,900 other deaths from all causes so I'm far more concerned that my friends were not among that other 99.3%. That would be especially so if they died because they could not be properly treated whilst the NHS concentrates its efforts on the 0.7% who died from the virus.
