Biden Is Better
Than I thought he might be, so far.
But, imo, he's made a massive error. He's been very aggressive towards Trump.
That's his sympathy vote gone and no- one could blame Trump for 'taking the gloves off'.

Bizarre stuff from an incumbent president.
No hope, no humour.
Instead bile, lies, sneering, insults.
I thought Biden held himself together pretty well. He didn’t land any “blows” but he didn’t need to. Trump is not going to appeal to any undecided voters with displays like that: all he has to do is sit tight and hope he doesn’t look too discombobulated by his opponents antics.
If he loses it from here it’ll be some mess-up

// standard nasty lefty, just hurl insults no real substance, didn't address any of Trump's points just spat the dummy out when Donald hit him back. Clear win for the Trumpster in my view. //
At the very least, Biden was only giving as good as he was getting. On the subject of nastiness, for example, consider this exchange:
// ... speaking of my son, the way you talk about the military, the way you talk about them being losers and being and just being suckers. My son was in Iraq. He spent a year there. He got the Brown Star. He got the Conspicuous Service Medal. He was not a loser. He was a Patriot and the people left behind there were heroes.
DONALD TRUMP: Really?
JOE BIDEN: And I resent-
DONALD TRUMP: Are you talking Hunter, are you talking about Hunter.
JOE BIDEN: I'm talking about my son, Beau Biden, you're talking about Hunter?
DONALD TRUMP: I don't know Beau. I know Hunter. Hunter got thrown out of the military. He was thrown out dishonorably discharged.
JOE BIDEN: That's not true he was not dishonorably discharged.
DONALD TRUMP: For cocaine use. And he didn't have a job until you became vice president.
JOE BIDEN: None of that is true.
DONALD TRUMP: Once you became vice president he made a fortune in Ukraine, in China, in Moscow and various other places.
JOE BIDEN: That is not true.
DONALD TRUMP: He made a fortune and he didn't have a job.
JOE BIDEN: My son like a lot of people at home had a drug problem. He's overtaking it. He's fixed it. He's worked on it. And I'm proud of him, I'm proud of my son. //
It's important to note that Beau Biden, the one Joe was initially talking about, died in 2015. It's also important to note that everything Trump said about Hunter Biden in this passage is false. But mostly, it's important to note that when a father is talking about his dead son, you don't interrupt them.

Indeed.
Like I say: lies, bile, sneering, insults.
From Biden we had “clown”, “worst president ever” and “dumb” or whatever.
Which I think many reasonable people might claim weren’t insults.
Whether one person or another shows themselves worthy of being president or not is largely irrelevant: plainly Trump is not, but look where he is.
He is at the epicentre of an age and culture where people can speak a lie often enough in the hope/knowledge enough will believe it.
If you’d had a different opponent up there last night v Biden you’d have had a wholly different debate

Trump did well there, jim360, to move the subject from the son who did military service in Iraq and was now dead, to the one who is living and with addiction issues. Biden shouldn't have let him get away with that, he should have made the point he was trying to make about Trump calling Americans who died in war losers and suckers.

> DONALD TRUMP: Really?
Biden's response could have been: "Yes, of course really. Are you saying that the American soldiers who died in Iraq weren't heroes?"
