Jeremy Vine Show Today Christmas Trees!

Did anyone watch the Jeremy Vine Show today, with Anne Diamond? They were asking if its too early yet to put our Christmas trees up !
to make everyone feel happier.. What are your thoughts? Do you love Christmas?

Yes my most favourite time of the year, I love the buzz, the lights, the ....everything about it,
Would I put my tree up so soon? Definitely not!!

It’s way too early for me.
I like to see my family at Christmas, but I don’t get excited and put a tree up yet, if at all.

But, there’s so much *** going on I don’t blame people for pretending it’s nearly Christmas if that’s what keeps them going.

One can stick up one's tree any time one wishes. But if one doesn't want the mickey taken out of them from all and sundry in the local area, nor want to be given strange looks for the whole year, best not let it be seen through the window for quite some time yet.

And no, did not see the show, but it sounds like they were scraping the bottom of the barrel for content.

Christmas is great for kids. And an excuse for adults to overeat (usually all the unhealthy things) and drink too much alcohol.

When I was a kid in the 70s we didn't put our tree up until about a week before Christmas. I think people will put their decorations up earlier this year because they need a bit of sparkle due to Covid (well, not Covid exactly, just how our inept Government have dealt with the Covid situation)

Love Christmas - so the answer re trees etc. is very firmly 'NO'. Advent begins 1st December, stick to that. Keep Christmas special!!

^^^ Because I have an offspring born 14th Dec., Christmas never began until 15thin our house. If it's anything to go by, Churches don't put up the greenery until the week before Christmas. In the old days it was Christmas Eve, but there are not enough non-employed ladies to do it all at once. Having said that............ a return to the old tradition seems imminent. :(

Too early. As a child it was Christmas Eve. Now 2 weeks before. You couldn’t put a real one up now, it would be bare by Christmas!

which goverment is that thats inept 237sj- England Scotland, wales, Northen Ireland or all of them. Isle of Mann goverment seems to be doing okay so a dont think you mean them

Yes, too early for Christmas trees, although they do look lovely. The first Saturday in December was always the rule for me and I think I'll stick to that!

Love the tree and all the twinkling lights but it's strictly cobwebs at the moment.
