Yes, in Civil cases the burden of "proof" is less stringent. The judge clearly saw enough to believe the Sun's story.

The Sun printed the story, Depp sued ... Heard was dragged into it. Given she was the one on the receiving end of the blows, you have to feel a bit sorry for her.

Even worse, Depp's lawyers are going to appeal the judgment.

I keep thinking of the Jeffrey Archer trial and how he got off because the judge seemed to have fallen in love with Mrs Archer and told the jury how fragrant she was and couldn't possibly have got anything wrong.

I hope the judge was right this time, but I sometimes wonder if a female judge would reach the same conclusion.
