Boris says MPs are not to get their £3.000 pay rise next spring. How on earth will they manage. Will they be able to claim extra expenses to compensate. ?.

I honestly believe that Boris would have taken on the job of PM if he had to pay them to do it! He has worked all his life towards this!

Cloned with Trump , I think Canary.
He's leading from the front , well done him
Sorry to disappoint you Canary and gulliver but its nothing to do with Boris..

https://news.sky.com/story/boris-johnson-says-mps-should-not-get-annual-pay-rise-amid-covid-19-pandemic-12140289

\\The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA), which sets MPs' salaries, last month recommended an increase worth £3,300 from next April.//

\\In a report released last month, IPSA proposed continuing to link parliamentarians' pay to wage growth in the public sector and using October's three-month average public sector wage growth as the benchmark.//
perhaps one of them could take up Boris's old slot writing for the Daily Telegraph - £2291 an hour (at the last count).
It doesn't do to have done well for yourself does it.

Webbo, " you say my post is nothing to do with Boris.
Then you post a link saying" Boris Johnson says Mps should not get annual pay rise" Eh.

read my post properly, its nothing do with Boris if MPs get a pay rise which you are implying.

JNO 17,54 , That figure makes the MPs £3.000 p/a look a bit sick
It is not really a good look for MPs to announce a public sector pay freeze while taking an extra £3000 themselves.

But this Government are experts at sending out mixed and confusing messages.
its not up to the government ^
anything to knock our PM, i seriously think he is underpaid in relation to the job. When footballers get millions we pay our PM a pittance.
They should be paid more, with the proviso they don't have other outside financial interests
He should have said they welcome it - if only to give you something legitimate to moan about Gulliver.
Yes Gullies the timing is bad,but I presume that negotiations with this independent body started well before Covid.

But there you are lads monies on the table so fill yer boots
Boris can suggest what he likes, but each MP will make up their minds.....you don't have to take the money.

I would.

Webbo 18.06 , You read my O/P properly .It's nothing to do with who decides on MPs pay rise, it is what Boris said.
"i seriously think he is underpaid in relation to the job"

Emmie,he knew the salary bfore he accepted the job.

Are u sayin he made another misjudgment?

whatever, i still think all MP's are underpaid. The PM as much as anyone.

Boris doesn't decide and he said Shouldn't.

Naomi, I sort of understand why you do it, but it doesn't look nice that you always automatically defend Boris and attack Gully. You never engage in any diiscussion with G (or anyone, really) you simply disagree with them and lately start using terms like "tripe". I expected better than that from you.
