The fat lady has just appeared on the stage. Not the beginning of the end,but the end of the beginning. Many people have many doubt and that I understand, the anti vaccination group i understand less if at all. Have your jabs but keep to government recommendations and we will be back to normal by June.

they are Ken, i was reading that 80's year old, those in care homes and staff will get first dibs,
the UK government has ordered xx number of doses, and regulatory approval has been granted. but that doesn't mean the UK is first in line to expect delivery. most of the money put up to develop this came from the US Government's "Operation Warp Speed", and the administration has put in £2bn for enough to vaccinate 50m of its citizens. i don't expect The Donald or Joe Biden are going to let li'l ol' UK jump the queue.
its been put out that we will get this next week.....are you saying they are wrong
yay yay yay. My sleeve is rolled up ready. Better still, sprog1 who works in ICU should get his first jab, hopefully next week
// i don't expect The Donald or Joe Biden are going to let li'l ol' UK jump the queue.//

Mushie - go back to spore stage or somefing ! ( as in 'go home mushie wherever home is!) -unworthy - Brits are first but wont be coz they nevuh are

in production they said they were doing it on spec ( churning out vackers lots of it! ) and the govt said it wd pay for any loss

this is the -70'C one so delivery will be - local
Hospitals are planning a mega jab arent they?

one said - we can do them all working a 13 h day
think of a many-tined pitch fork all wiv syringes on the end
and a row of rolled up arms
wiv Matron yelling - - NEEEEXT !
// But what I want to know ... all the idiot protesters ... Covid is non-existant, still rush to get vaccinated!!!//- the lovely coo-tar

the expt has unfortunately been done
Samoa - measles outbreak and widespread refusal to vaccinate with MMR coz it kills babies etc. They continued to refuse - God will protect us etc - and buried 120 measles babies

no one I think has done the follow up
hullo mum- you have a dead baby - would you do it again?

we had unvaccinated measles children, and unlike chilldo (discharge covid-refusers and let them DIIIIIIEEEEEE like argies in the gutter) - we treated them with the view - "christ mum we think you might have killed this one". No blame just - how cd she be so stupid
Well I wont be queuing - not for this one anyway.

But good news for people who are happy with it.

Much as I dislike Boris and Hancock I dont think getting them will be a problem if you are on the first list.
A country of 65 million people.

1 million people a week vaccinated. 65 weeks till we can return to normal?
Well longer than that if two needed.

But you have to start somewhere. I am confident others will follow and if more like the Oxford one is a standard style vac then it will be easier and quicker to administer from Chemists etc.

Plus the NHS is training office staff to administer them. My wife has put her name forward. But this will take time.
Of course, it also depends on how many will have it. I suspect it will be slow to start with.
If it's slow to start with (which I agree, it will be). Then it's going to take even longer. All I'm saying is, there will be restrictions to live with for many months to come.

I suspect you have no idea as to how urgently people want this.
Colleagues in work this morning were literally dancing at the news, but then if you’d worked at the front edge of this whole scenario throughout I guess you’d be a tad relieved.

It’ll be anything BUT slow to start, believe me.
Dancing at the news, Chill!! I'm glad you and your colleagues have finally got something to give you a lift. It's been a long time coming and much needed...x
you and your colleagues will be in the second tranche of recipients, Chill, and rightly so (after the elderly in care homes and carers)

PP @ 0811,
The Oxford Vaccine and the Pfizer Vaccine are two different vaccines.
Matt Hancock has said he will have one on television to show there is nothing to fear. That will only show that he is not afraid of needles, it won't show any side effects (if there are any). Why would he be one of the first to get one, he doesn't fit the old and vulnerable categories?
looks as though diddlydo was right to be wary of "in the coming days"

//Boris Johnson has warned people not to “get their hopes up” about a very rapid rollout of a newly approved coronavirus vaccine across large parts of the population//

Because sceptics like you who harp on about ‘possible side effects’ won’t be satisfied until they see a Government minister have it administered.

Do a little research and see how a vaccine like this has to pass rigorous and stringent independent medical scrutiny.
It’s bomb-proof in respect of scepticism.
Undoubtedly you were vaccinated as a school child(MMR, BCG etc).
Do you recall ANY of your fellow pupils dying or suffering long term effects from having had said vaccines?

The cynicism and scepticism over this is frankly pathetic.
If you don’t want it, don’t have it but don’t bleat about it should you fall ill(when I say you I don’t mean the poster as an individual, it’s aimed at anyone who is adamant they won’t be having it.)
when the story first broke early this morning they estimated that it would be within the next week, but there are now updating everyone as to its rollout. Yes it could take a while but its still a good thing
