RIP Babs and respect to her husband. She is an icon of bygone times and should be remembered as such. I never realised she was only 4ft 10.

Barabara has had Alzheimer's for 14 years and I believe the past few years has been particularly difficult and distressing. It is always sad to lose a loved one but sometimes the passing is a blessed relief.

Both Barbara and the late Mike Reid were at the funeral of Reggie Kray , it was a big affair in London's East end

But I don't think, or it should not, make any difference to anyone saying how sad they are at her passing, she was a British icon , I couldn't stand any of the Carry on films but she made her name in them, later to become the interminable Peggy " Gerrouta Ma Pab' Mitchell

As advised, one of the memories evoked by Ms Windsor's sad passing is her known links with London gangland, specifically associations with the Krays.

I for one would never want that small aspect of her past to colour anyone's feelings about the sadness of her long difficult illness, and sad by blessed release from it, or indeed her varied and respcted acting career that was far more than her Carry On appearences.
