Everyone does. That is the problem. Britain wants the benefits of EU membership without the contraints. The EU wants to protect its single market at the cost of trade barriers.
It’s not hard to see tho who’ll come off worse. It’s no shame admitting that. The trouble is the Willy wavers in the Brexit brigade have mostly now ended up in the cabinet

I can’t speak for the EU, but Johnson has boxed himself into a corner with his talk of no surrender. He cannot utter the words “we gave way on ...” and ne we will. So if there is to be a compromise it’ll have to have to have all the elaborate choreography of a N Ireland peace accord. Speaking of which it’s likely as I said before that Ireland will ride to the rescue as they stand to lose a lot if there’s no deal. Germany too wants compromise but contrary to popular belief they don’t run the show
True Togo, but a bad trade deal would convert Brexit into Brino.
Not so Zacs. We didn't have full sovereignty which was the issue. Luckily there was a leave procedure which could be used to regain it. Otherwise we'd have had to threaten military might to throw off the shackles.
We have not picked any unnecessary quarrels Ich, the EU has done that by trying to deny rights and continue to plunder us.
The UK can get boats out ok, to escort illegal immigrants here. Check out Farage's YouTube videos.
There is little use in having Parliamentary Sovereignty if whenever it is exercised it is able to be usurped by an unelected organisation. A nation needs it's own full sovereignty or it is unworthy of the title.
Brexit was based on a great big blatantly obvious truth and a need to correct past government errors. As for when the EU grovelling starts, who knows ? I suspect the Commission is too proud to accept their failures and national leaders have much less power while they insist their nation remains an EU member.
Britain wants the advantages of international cooperation and reasonable trade agreements. It does not want to touch EU membership with a ten foot bargepole. Some have not been paying attention.
The EU is determined not to monitor a small free movement portion of it's borders for the sake of peace, and instead uses fear for it's single market as a convenient justification. Their precious market is still protected as long as their police and other authorities can do their job. Hardly that different to catching existing smugglers.

The anti British cannot resist being wrong. Are you still here then jno? Thought you would be gone by now.
The witch, who liked to dress up as a bloke, was subsequently defeated at Compiégne and captured.
Blucher was nowhere in sight when Wellington, after prolonged fierce and bloody fighting, routed Bonny's Imperial Guard causing them to throw down their weapons and flee. Blucher showed up, as they do, when the battle was won to chase the defencless vanquished. Had the frogs looked like winning he was all set to switch sides. An early enough example of European double dealing and dodgy motives that every English schoolboy used to know.

"Britain wants the benefits of EU membership without the contraints."
That is not strictly true is it? Name me one country that the EU has done a deal with where they are subject to EU law and Courts and have handed over their territorial waters to the EU to plunder at will.
The UK asked for a Canada style deal, the EU dont want us to have that, do you ever ask yourself why? It is the EU pushing for more control not the UK.
