For once he would be right to stop the Christmas free-for-all. He might then come across to more people as a leader.

It's looking increasingly likely that public pressure will force Boris to do a re-think and not before time - how thick-skinned can he be? (no need to answer the last bit)
You base your re think on what evidence. The public are not in charge, have no say in the decision making, its up to Boris, Nicola etc, and their respective scientists, advisors to decide.
The BBC website as of today, has it that the 5 day easing will go ahead. Even if he on advisement does another u turn do you honestly think that a percentage will care. Some may cancel their plans to meet up, but i honestly feel many won't.

Boris wants to be Churchill. He very much doesn't want to be anti-fun Cromwell. So I don't think he'll dare cancel Christmas though he might shorten the break or shrink the bubbles.
i bet that more people are confused about what tiers they should be in than they like to admit. Seeing as how you can cross one part of Scotland be in Tier 2, then another down the way be in Tier 3. London has now gone into Tier 3, but some classed as London, on the outskirts have different tiers. One way or another he is not going to please everyone.
Some of us didn’t find Churchill any more fun than Cromwell, Jno...... :-)

The easiest way is to look at government website it tells the tiers each area is in
https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-protection-levels/
yes i know, but many might not have access to internet, or read the news besides which they seem to changing daily
“These levels are reviewed weekly.”
//but many might not have access to internet, or read the news //
Maybe they should think about reading the news or something, we are in the middle of a pandemic, it would be in their interest to..
think Nicola is about to ...rightly..pull the plug on the 5 day free for all
perhaps, however the poster seems to think that Boris will do another U Turn. The news doesn't so far bear that out
emmie..if you are in tier 3 in Scotland you are supposed to stay within your Local authority boundaries..no travelling in or out. even if adjoinig areas are 3 too....tiers 1 and 2 can not cross into 3 either
i can't see that Minty, at the moment..
I think there was a downing St announcement last night that England is sticking with it
yes the link i provided says that.
we are being policed..cars are being stopped..buses are being boarded etc... one main shopping area near me was pulling over all cars approaching from the Edinburgh city road and turning back those not in Midlothian..PNC sweeps of number plates
Not possible in London i would have thought. Whateve Boris does or doesn't do is going to upset someone or other.
. Whether we have a two day break or five days some are going to catch this virus. So he cancels the five days, will many adhere to it.
If Boris wants to be like Churchill he needs to appease Russia, and screw poland,

We are all suffering from fatigue from fear of an invisible enemy, the lack of cohesiveness is making it worse. I am going to hibernate
