Time our supermarkets supported home grown produce and stopped worrying about supplying 'our friends' overseas. I saw an article on the news the other day about two lots of flower/bulb producers - one was importing and one was exporting - what's that all about? Why don't the importers by from the exporters in this country? But who needs flowers anyway, they are hardly a part of our staple diet.

Probably because, since Brexit, all the Eastern Europeans who, it seems, are the only people with the skills needed to pick veg, have, so we are told, gone home. Highly skilled occupation, picking cauliflowers, don'tcha know. The strange thing is, on many days I hear more Polish and Lithuanian spoken in my local High Street than I do English.
