From the moment his passport was stamped I had 48 hours to get back to England from Valencia, including an overnight stay in Toulouse. When his leishmaniasis became apparent and his health declined I had to speak to his old vet in Xativa to get drugs that I couldn't get in this country, obtain a veterinary import licence to bring the drugs into this country and pay for my friend to fly back to England with the medicine in his suitcase.
An animal health certificate and a vaccination are a piece of cake by comparison. I'm sure when you've thought this through, you'll decide your dogs are worth the effort.

So if we are going to Scotland and back within 4 months then the cost of the vaccine, tape worm and the health certs for 2 dogs approx £125
If we then wish 4 month later to go to England and visit family we will need new certs and tapeworm again so approx £70
Then our annual trip down south 4 months later will need another health certs and tape worm will bea further £70
All this is repeated each year
