I'm sure that the authorities don't want you catching rabies, and perhaps you can get your Covid vaccination at the same time ;-)
You're welcome.
it's good that you are not being selfish too much!
Cripes, I had to do all that and more when I brought Alfie over from Spain. From the moment his passport was stamped I had 48 hours to get back to England from Valencia, including an overnight stay in Toulouse. When his leishmaniasis became apparent and his health declined I had to speak to his old vet in Xativa to get drugs that I couldn't get in this country, obtain a veterinary import licence to bring the drugs into this country and pay for my friend to fly back to England with the medicine in his suitcase.

An animal health certificate and a vaccination are a piece of cake by comparison. I'm sure when you've thought this through, you'll decide your dogs are worth the effort.

Tora it’s a long list and growing every day
Lcg we have to do this for every trip so that’s 3 trips a year 2 health certs for every trip
Is it acceptable to require certificates and pet passports to travel from one part of the UK to another?

Will a pet passport or jag be needed for the return trip?
Surely they're valid for a given period of time? I'm sure I had a document that was valid for two years and I could go back and forth on it. I'm sure it was only the ticks and tapeworm I had to do each time.
Best you get them then.
"I'm sure that the authorities don't want you catching rabies"

Is a rabies a problem in Ulster, GB or the ROI?
Question Author
The health certs are valid for 1 trip and 4 months
If you are planning on coming to Wales you might find your not allowed in at the moment even if you've had a rabies vaccine. Do you need the full vaccine or just the booster??
Question Author
Full vaccine then the booster each year you wish to travel.
How much will the new process cost, there and back?
Question Author
So if we are going to Scotland and back within 4 months then the cost of the vaccine, tape worm and the health certs for 2 dogs approx £125
If we then wish 4 month later to go to England and visit family we will need new certs and tapeworm again so approx £70
Then our annual trip down south 4 months later will need another health certs and tape worm will bea further £70
All this is repeated each year
I don't see what this has to do with brexit, hasn't their been pet passports etc for years?
Question Author
Never been necessary between Northern Ireland and southern or between Northern Ireland and England or Scotland
Question Author
The changes have been brought in because of brexit
How dare you suggest anything other than bliss will result as of three days from now ? I am waiting to reap untold advantages plus learning to swim in milk and honey.
Yes, no more red tape!
Thank the EU. They are the ones who demanded our nation have an internal border in the Irish Sea. Anyway, you can choose to change things later and have the border with the EU instead. About 5 years time if memory is correct.
