The Observer (Sunday version of the Guardian) has published the false claim that Palestinians were being denied vaccine by the Israelis;

https://www.algemeiner.com/2021/01/04/top-uk-jewish-group-slams-leading-daily-for-claim-that-israel-is-denying-covid-19-vaccine-to-palestinians/

Should not an apology be forthcoming?

all pretty standard stuff from the anti Semitic left.
someone here posted that he was glad that Palenstinians weren't being given the vaccine, why i don't know, seemed a crass thing to say.
i did query his remarks but didn't get a reply -

How awful emmie, I think you should have reported it. I didn't see it or I would have done.
Have you forgotten who it was, Emmie? If not, name and shame.
can't remember who it was now, seemed an awful thing to say.
i am not going to be able to go back over posts, as there have been too many to find out who it was, maybe they will post again and give an explanation but i wouldn't hold my breath
That isn’t anti Semitic necessarily.
I think emmie is meaning the comment at 17:41 in this thread:

https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ChatterBank/Question1734913.html

In that case, I'd suggest that it's meant sarcastically.
It’s also not necessarily “fake news” in the sense we mean it.
It may however be completely wrong in which case the Observer should and no doubt will issue a correction if so.
that is the one, and that is not how it reads - but if its meant sarcastically then the poster should have said so.
The Guardian story is partially true.
Israel has for years blockaded the Palestinian areas and no covid vaccine is getting through. Israel says the Palestinian Authorities should source the vaccines and administer them.

// But Israel is not providing vaccines to Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied West Bank or in the Gaza Strip, which is blockaded by Israel and Egypt. Palestinian officials are scrambling to secure deals with vaccine manufacturers.

Israel says the Palestinians are responsible for their own health care under the 1990s Oslo peace accords. //
Antisemitism is on the increase.
It has been the case for two thousand years, and foretold with great accuracy in the bible.
A coincidence you may say?
You decide.
Khandro,

// the false claim that Palestinians were being denied vaccine by the Israelis; //

As the claim is true, perhaps YOU should apologise to The Guardian?
sunk, so your comments on the other thread, were meant to be sarcastic,?

Yes, that is the article referred to in the link in the OP. and it isn't true, it's a complete fabrication:
"“The Palestinian Authority is responsible for vaccinations provided to Palestinians in both the West Bank and Gaza,” she noted. “As reported within the same article, the PA has not even asked Israel for help in this regard, looking to source the vaccines elsewhere.”

“The Observer’s headline — and the picture alongside it, of an Orthodox Jew being vaccinated in Israel — has provided grist to the mill of far-right and far-left antisemites alike, who seek to take anything positive Israel does and twist it beyond recognition,” Gewolb asserted. “The paper should change this headline immediately and issue an apology.”"
Is the article not criticizing the policy of the Israeli Government rather than Jewish folk? If so, it is not anti-Semitic.
Exactly.
It’s no more anti Semitic than it would be anti Islamic to criticise policies if the Palestinian authority.
Brietbart and the like on the other hand ...
And the critics of “the Jew Soros” ;-)
Unfortunately, TCL, there are a great many people who don't see that distinction and view any criticism of Israel or its' government as being a direct attack on the Jews themselves.

I think the article in question is fair, but you have to read it with an open mind.
Every word in the Guardian article is true, and is definitely not anti-semitic. Rather telling that you did not include a link for AB readers to decide for themselves.

The Israeli inoculation programme is impressive and should be applauded. However, having a large number of people with no prospect of having a vaccine anytime soon rather undermines their good work.
If the British Government said everyone will get a vaccine except Manchester’s 2.8 million residents, you would think they were crazy. But that is the crazy situation in Israel.
