People should care. In a sense this sets the tone for the next four years. The loser concedes because it helps establish the winner's legitimacy. That isn't happening this time, thus undercutting Biden's legitimacy in the eyes of many. Wrongly, I might add -- but the effect will be there all the same, and it matters.
