I don’t wish pain on anyone and I don’t seek retribution ever because that's futile. In my opinion a short, sharp, painless lethal injection, as we’d do with any mad dog that savagely rips someone to bits, would have saved all this fuss and expense - and the world would have been a better place a lot sooner. I’ll shed no tears at his demise.

To believe in Karma in the sense of the evil-doers getting their ‘just rewards’ is both childish wishful thinking and a misinterpretation of the notion of Karma.
The evil-doers rarely get their just rewards. Just consider how this country’s vast wealth is still concentrated in the hands of the same families as it was a century ago.
To believe in Karma you must also believe in rebirth, for your Karma is worked out in future lives.

If you believe in karma be careful what you wish for. Vengeance cuts both ways.
In my experience believing is overrated. Beliefs seem to exist in inverse proportion to knowledge.
Justice is among humanities highest moral principles. Justice requires an ability to determine what is just through an understanding of its corollaries which are responsibility and accountability. Justice is requisite to civilisation but in its pursuit be prepared equally to be judged.

With reference to the OP & Karma; when as a judge he convicted an offender at the Old Bailey he would would say before passing sentence, "I want you to be quite clear, you are not being punished FOR what you have done, you are being punished BY what you have done."

Bad things, like good luck generally just seem to happen. So no to an idea of Karma and I would not wish I'll on him no matter how terrible his crime, and it was truly terrible.
If I wish ill on someone that creates in my mind, and to my mind negative energy. I can't wish him well so will not wish him anything merely note that he is another victim of this pandemic and he will live or die depending I suspect on the care of a culture he so obviously despised.
