but aren't we getting a bit anal about it all. If a black guy calls me a white XXX can't say I'd get terribly upset. I'd put it down to his stupidity or insensitivity. While, of course, as a white guy, I have not been subject to racism, institutionalized or otherwise, can't help but think there are other things to worry about. And why isn't the criminal offence of incitement to racial hatred enforced? Perhaps if it was we could all get on with our lives.

Easy to say when you are in the majority and nearly all of those in authority have the same colour skin as you

Yes. Would just like the law to be enforced. Then the bigots would, one way or another, be tamed and we could get on with other things.
If white privilege is real, why do so many whites pretend to be black?
And I don't mean like Justin Trudeau.
news?
ps, i loathe cauliflower - is that classed as news now :)

Yes, it's news you nitpickers. Watch a news bulletin today and you'll find stories about racism in the UK. What do you think it is goodness sake?
" can't help but think there are other things to worry about"
that tends to be an excuse for doing nothing...it was said about banning hunting with hounds and employment equality for women among other things.
Paigntonian - // If a black guy calls me a white XXX can't say I'd get terribly upset. I'd put it down to his stupidity or insensitivity. //

What about if half a dozen of his friends beat you into next week because you were white and they were all black? Maybe you'd have a different perspective then.

// While, of course, as a white guy, I have not been subject to racism, institutionalized or otherwise, can't help but think there are other things to worry about. //

Exactly - as a white man you have no direct experience of racism, so it's easy for you to say there are 'other things to worry about'.

If you were black, and understood racism first hand, you'd still say there were other things to worry about, but because you are black, racism is rather nearer the top of your list that it is for you as a white man.

// And why isn't the criminal offence of incitement to racial hatred enforced? Perhaps if it was we could all get on with our lives. //

Who says it isn't? And do you know of one single law currently on the statute book that is never ever contavened, and lets us 'all get on with our lives'?

I don't.
// Yes. Would just like the law to be enforced.//

yeah it has: that fella Yaxley lennon - aka Tommy Robinson has done a few terms in prison hasnt he?

(erm you dont mean him - do you?)
I hate cauliflower too.

Futrther news reports as the situation develops.
Try Aston park Birmingham. You will not be very welcome if white. Then you can state you’ve been subject to racism.
If you make it out alive.
There are parts of Oldham, Gtr M/cr that are no go areas for whites. Nobody will tell you that, but try going.
This isn’t news
What happened to jolly, red-faced yeomen, warm beer and bobbies on bicycles?

You've let the place go a bit.
mozz, I don't just hate it, I loathe it. Even touching it can make me feel unwell. It's pathetic, right?
Bednobs, there are foods I don't like, but only one food I despise, and that's cauliflower. The weird thing is that I really like broccoli (although I have to trim the stalks right back)
lychees also make me feel a bit funny :)
fancy starting an anti-cauliflower league?
hey, Cauliflower Lives matter you know!
I hope broccoli isn't subjected to this much abuse!
