From January this year,

'Four criminal justice watchdogs for England and Wales have warned they have "grave concerns" about the impact of court backlogs caused by the pandemic.

The inspectorates for policing, prisons, probation and prosecutions say issues it has caused could damage the criminal justice system for years.

It comes after figures revealed the backlog in the crown courts has reached 54,000 unheard cases.

That means some crimes from last year will not go before a jury before 2022.'

Most criminal acts are not going to set precedents. This one regarding pulling down statues, and possibly get away with it, might. For that reason alone it needs to be given priority. The rest can wait a short while longer with no major detrimental effect.
Savages? The killed a statue. While I agree they should be punished, did their offense really warrant being called savages? They haven't attacked, killed, raped or abused another human being. That's the work of savages, not throwing a statue in a river.

mozz, it's an in joke, someone will explain it to you.
You made the joke me ole china, why don't you explain it?
Perhaps TORATORATORA is taking on the mantle of a former member of this Parish?
Would seem to be an ‘in joke’ to a very select audience.
Its criminal damage and not high treason.

That said they are denying it and their defence can't be that they didn't do the damage, so it must be that it "wasn't criminal" which will be interesting.
ANOTHEOLDGIT would often refer to a "savage" or "savages", especially when those involved were not white.
Strange. These self-important,rich,upper middle-class tw*ts look like mighty white to me?
//ANOTHEOLDGIT would often refer to a "savage" or "savages", especially when those involved were not white.//

A byword for something less acceptable then?I

Sounds like an "in joke" I'm happy to not be a part of.
Wow, you can tell they’re rich upper middle class (whatever that is) by looking at people!
@zacs.I just know, you just know....They are the same people the working class voted against at the last election.
Less of an 'in' joke and more a lack of imagination.

This case is no more important than many already in the backlog, it will keep.
maybe (if they had masks/scarves on) they will be denying it was them?
I'm afraid I'm devoting my energy to erasing 'most dearest' from history so can't comment. :-P
Not with you, douglas.
