""This programme contains scenes of nudity, sex scenes and violence",

Isn't that coyly done to get people watching :-)
^
Works every time with me, Ich :-))

Providing, of course, that it's, ahem, essential to the plot :-/
Naturellement :-)
And then the entire post gets blatted.

Not much point complaining about BBC censorship if AB is doing that.
I say again:
If it’s the “these people are ‘shock horror word’ “ thing then hardly the end of the world” (I can’t see the link quoted)
But I don’t agree with retro censorship unless it’s prime time perhaps which it’s probably not.
Stupid it being edited, someone at the Beeb has got thier self righteous hat on. Show it as it was first aired IMO. They'll have to edit out basil beating his car with a tree branch because it could induce vandalism lol
It might be the post needs an edit for the offending word to be removed before the post re-appears.

To be fair, you said you were "amazed" it got through the filter.
This news?

Back in 2013 John Cleese agreed this episode should be edited to remove the offending lines if it was ever repeated on TV.

And I thought the right wing racists had boycotted the BBC already.
Missed the offending post, posters can always get profanities past the filter with a few inserted characters, but you still get the gist.
Set?
three minute edited versions of 'curry and chips' with the wonderful eric sykes and spike milligan are to be shown after the watershed
"To be fair, you said you were "amazed" it got through the filter. "

Yes the automatic filter.
The word is not "taboo": fair game for an automatic "bleeper" but I'd have thought perfecrtly ok when used in a discussion rather than in anger.
If you are going to edit Fawlty Towers then where do you start? The Germans? Mrs Richards? The Corpse? I think people can make up their own minds.Re Ken's earlier post I can never make up my mind about who is the real Davina Mccall,is she the caring person on Long Lost Family or the Over the top shouty ladette on Million Pound drop?
I think they are better off just showing repeats, with a warning if necessary. It was from it's own time and probably would look ridiculously old-fashioned nowadays anyway. It's more for people who already remember it.
I read that the broadcasts are going out before the 9pm watershed and that they are also censoring the 'rude' anagram at the beginning of the 11th episode, 'The anniversary'. :-(

//america's at it with rebranding toys pancake syrup books etc as well.//

Yes, I'd noticed the Dr Suess has had some books removed because they featured loincloth wearing African (as TTT would no doubt call them) savages. I don't see why they don't just change the "offending" illustration.
(The warning, "Presented by Davina McCall", actually has that effect on me).

Ken that made me spit my tea out lol
Does anybody ever "Spit their Tea/Coffee" out at something they read?
I would agree with posters who suggest that the issue has a warning before broadcast.

If the BBC is going to edit its classic comedies to tie in with the woke generation, then it is going to alienate swathes of its audience who do not appreciate being nanny-ed by woke youngsters.
