Has there been a report stating a drugs overdose was the CoD? I had missed that. I understood that there were toxicology reports that stated a high level of fentanyl which was probably a contributory factor together with his underlying health issues but in someone such as GF who was a regular user that is not an overdose level because of his high tolerance, but I hadnt realised his cause of death has now been formally reported as an overdose. It was my understanding that whilst there were no physical signs of traumatic asphyxiation, neck compression does not always produce any such signs.
I fully expected Chauvin's defence team to argue that there were other causes of death. Of course they would! Any sensible lawyer is going to try and throw doubt enough to acquit their client - that is no reflection on Chauvin. The prosecution must prove it to the jury's satisfaction and if there is doubt, he will rightly be acquitted of some or all of the charges.
I think this will be an extremely difficult case for the jury.
