Degsy wasnt corrupt by the way - just er left wing with a sense of humour - didnt he put in charge of education someone who cdnt read or write?
There is a certain irony, that Liverpool may soon be run by the most openly corrupt cabinet minister for decades.

Robert Jenrick, who will take over the running of the city, gifted his mate, the pornography publisher Richard Desmond, a planning concession that would benefit Desmond to the tune of £100million. Shortly afterwards Desmond gratefully made a donation to the Conservative Party.

But Jenrick is such a Boris Johnson toady, he kept his job. No police investigation, no punishment.
And he will now be in charge of Liverpool Council even though no one in the city voted for him. Of the 72 elected councillors in Liverpool, the Conservative Party won precisely 0 seats.

Now that is real corruption.
Was going to post something last night about the irony but knew we could rely on you to post something much clearer than me. But was Kendrick reported to police just to piers Morgan and the press. You could report him. To defend Joe Anderson my understanding was that the police investigation was being dropped or was struggling to find anything but maybe am mistaken?
But its just speculation. It would be a commissioner not Jendrick running it. May never happen but if the report finds significant corruption whats the alternative maybe another local election but that would be summer
