I think that cough "some of us" cough are confusing electric scanning with human scanning...either does the job.

well it's quite hard to argue with someone wh uses "end of" all the time :) (plus I think SJ volunteers and Prudie works.)
However, via your 2015 link, I went to the govt guidelines and they say passport OR travel documents (suggesting to me that I passports aren't always scanned if you can use your travel documents or another means)
In the end though one of you is right and the other wrong.

The whole idea is an affront to human rights and dignity. It's one thing to get personal protection if going somewhere where there is a high risk, quite another to ban folk from going about their legitimate business because they are basically informed they must have medication against their consent in order to be treated fairly as others are. If the riots in this country and others continue to grow maybe authority figures will wake up to the fact that there's a limit that the public will permit themselves to be pushed around.

I did read your link - and used it to go to the .gov site, where it says passports OR travel documents.

the "...or travel documents" refers to domestic flight. Gawd even when I went on the school skiing trip in 1976 they checked passports (well we had a group kids one then) I'm not saying they always scanned them but I have never been allowed to board a vehicle carrying me to a foreign country without some form or passport.

The link says leaving the UK, why are you ignoring what I said clearly - my passport was NOT SCANNED when I left a Spanish island 5 months ago and never ever has been. It's really pointless joining in further.
