SNP defections to Salmond's new band of brothers. First Brexit, then Labour defections, Labour's terrible G.election, now SNP split. At this rate, Tories will be in power forever.
TBF though, "ALBA" - perlease, do we have an explanation as to the origin of ALBA? or did he mean ABBA? I'm no fan of the wee un but I think she'll be his waterloo!
so brain's exhausted anne is it? You need to pick on the lack of a capital letter? Right oh! Would have told me all I needed to know If I didn't already know it!
According to some of my Scots friends Salmond is well regarded in the borders and Sturgeon is disliked & also in the Highlands & Islands. Maybe she just rules the Glasgow - Edinburgh belt?
I wonder how this is playing out with the Scottish electorate.
I think his idea is it gives more opportunities for die hard independence lovers to vote that way. In practice, I suspect the sight of the in fighting will put voters off the lot of them.
Bizzare, but because of the list system, Salmond and a few of his friends will be elected. That will mean a few more MSPs being pro-independence - which will make absolutely no difference. So it looks like a simple vehicle for Salmond. And, I can't find out why they're called Alba...
TCB has answered the question about the name of the new party, though I can't see how using a Gaelic name is going to appeal to the electorate, most of whom don't speak it anyway.
I used to like and respect Alec Salmond but did not support the SNP's quest for independence. But he seems to have now morphed into a typical sleazy and untrustworthy politician.
I fail to understand why anyone would want to be a politician of any type. The media seems to look for any tiny flaw in their life and attempt to destroy them.
