Not unexpected but still sad. I feel so sorry for the queen, he's been her support for 73 years, that's a long time.
Lets put this to bed. HARRY will be allowed to come back for the funeral whether theres an uproar or not. The only uproar will be on here.
Yes , me too Roopower
RIP Prince Philip.
He had an astonishingly long and productive life. I feel sad for the Queen's loss of her husband of over 70 years.
its very sad news, watching it now.
Me too Emmie, he was certainly a looker back in the day
So the Queen has said in the past that he was her rock? things change over time, And no one knows what really goes on behind closed doors. Do they??
RIP to him - and best wishes to the Queen. Who I'm sure is reading... xx
Pixie I’m sure she’ll feel those that love the RF will be with her on this her saddest day
Sad news, indeed, though as has been mentioned, a bloody good innings. Neither of my parents managed to get beyond 75 years old.
Very blunt post title! I found him funny, and he supported the Queen 100% for 73 years - that takes some doing.
//The Queen should abdicate and hand over to William.//

1. I would be surprised to see her abdicate though I haven't really thought it through.

2. If she did it would be in favour of Charles. This not being a banana republic, she does not get to choose her successor. The succession is governed by Common Law, with a bit of constraint provided by the Bill of Rights and the Act of Settlement. Charles is the legitimate heir to the throne and he would have to abdicate in favour of his son before he could take over. I think there is very little chance of that.
Actually, I hope so, bobbi, that she feels the support.
it is rather blunt, but its a day to remember a remarkable man - the Queen undoubtedly will miss him dreadfully, as will their family.
And she supported him. They were a team and at her age, she may decide it's time for Charles to have a bash.
A man who understood the meaning of duty. RIP.

The queen won’t abdicate. She vowed to serve this country for her whole life and that’s what she’ll do.
when she was very young she made a solemn promise to serve her country her whole life, whether short or long, so i can't see her
abdicating in favour of Charles -
Me neither. She promised and I believe she meant it.
Very sad. A loss to the whole nation.
